Pricing

The price for a full diagnostic dyslexia assessment is £490

I do not want cost to be a barrier to you accessing the support you or your child needs. If affordability is a concern, please get in touch. I'm happy to discuss your situation and may be able to offer a substantial discount in very special circumstances and smaller discounts at my discretion. If I do this, I am giving the discount to you; I am not recovering money from anybody else. I completely understand and sympathise with the stress of financial difficulties, and I will always respond with empathy and discretion.

To help make my services more accessible, I have enabled flexible payment options, including staged payments through providers such as Shop and Klarna, letting you spread the payment over several months.  If I have agreed to give a discount, the amount you pay will be that discounted amount.  You do not have to pay in full to receive the discount, and if you choose to pay in instalments via Klarna or Shop, it will be the discounted amount that we agreed.    Please see here below.

If you’re unsure whether an assessment is right for you or your child, I’m always happy to have a quick, informal chat before you book.

Payment

I can keep my charges low by being efficient.  This includes making sure I'm not chasing payments. I will send an invoice a few days before the assessment, as payment is required before the assessment takes place.

The invoice will include my bank details, making online bank transfer payments straightforward and convenient. Please do call or text me if you would like to confirm my bank details before sending monies.  It is unlikely, but there is always the possibility that a criminal might send their bank details to try to intercept your payment.

You can pay by:

  • bank transfer / internet banking (my preferred method)
  • credit or debit card in person (I have a card reader, but I am charged a fee)
  • credit or debit card online (see below, but I am charged a fee)
  • cash
  • cheque (this is difficult and slow)
  • Google and Apple Pay, depending on the credit limits agreed upon (but I am charged a fee)
  • using a third-party credit provider, giving you flexible staged payment options (see below)

A link to my secure online payment portal can be found at the bottom of this page.

Please note: Payment must be received in full before I begin scoring the assessment and preparing the final report.

Although the assessment session itself usually takes around two hours, the assessment does not end there. A considerable amount of professional time is spent afterwards scoring the tests, analysing the results, and writing a detailed report, which typically requires a further four hours or more.

To ensure that I can devote the necessary time and attention to each assessment, I ask that all fees are settled before this stage of the process begins.

Flexible Payment Options (Including Klarna and Shop Pay)

I understand that a professional dyslexia assessment represents a significant investment and that paying the full fee upfront is not always convenient. To help make assessments more accessible, I offer a range of flexible payment options through third-party providers, including Klarna and Shop Pay, via my website.

These services allow you to spread the cost of an assessment over several instalments, subject to the provider's terms and conditions, eligibility criteria, and approval process.

Please note that any instalment or finance arrangement is provided entirely by the payment provider and not by me. If you choose this option, you will enter into a separate agreement directly with the provider. The provider pays the full assessment fee to me, and you then repay the provider in accordance with the terms of your agreement with them.

If, after you have paid, an assessment is cancelled or does not proceed for any reason, any refund will normally be processed through the payment provider rather than directly between you and me. The provider will then deal with the associated adjustment or settlement of funds in accordance with their policies and procedures,  both arranging to return monies to you and asking me to refund them. I will not be able to refund to you any monies you have given them -  you will need to demand those monies from them.

Before choosing a staged payment option, please ensure that you understand the provider's terms and conditions, including any fees, charges, interest, or eligibility requirements that may apply. If you are unsure whether a particular payment arrangement is suitable for your circumstances, you may wish to seek independent financial advice.

My aim in offering these payment options is simply to provide families, students, and adults with greater flexibility when arranging an assessment, allowing them to choose the payment method that best suits their circumstances. I do not receive any financial benefit from your agreement with the provider other than receiving my fee on time. The arrangement simply enables me to receive payment for my services immediately, while you benefit from the flexibility offered by the provider.

Benefits of staged payments

Spread the cost
Divide the cost into smaller, more manageable payments rather than paying everything up front.

Access support sooner
Avoid delaying an assessment that could make a real difference - especially where there are school, university, or workplace deadlines.

Simple and quick to arrange
Payment plans are typically set up during checkout and take just a few moments.

Interest-free options available
Some plans may be interest-free if payments are made on time (depending on the provider).

Things to consider

I believe it’s important to be open about how these services work:

You are entering a credit agreement
Using a provider such as Shop or Klarna means agreeing to a form of credit.

Missed payments may incur charges
Late fees or interest may apply depending on the provider.

It is still a financial commitment
Spreading payments can help, but please consider your overall budget.

Approval is required
Payment plans are subject to provider approval and may not always be available.

You are dealing with the credit provider, not me
Once you have paid the money, I can't refund you myself.  You must first deal with the provider. If they refund you, they then ask me to refund them.
